7 Podcasts To Improve Your Life And Productivity Immediately

I used to waste my time in commuting doing nothing but listen to music. Sometimes it’s important to declutter and relax, but most times you’re just WASTING your precious time. To increase productivity I started to listen to podcasts.

The feeling that I needed to change this bad habit of wasting time with nothing moved me. I picked up my kindle to read while I was heading to work in the bus and, guess what, I discovered that the movement of the bus made my eyes tremble and I couldn’t read because it made me feel dazed and nauseated.

Then I felt it was the time to change the way I would read. Then I started to listen to audiobooks with a major bad preconception for it but I was out of choices.

I had this thought: “I love my books,  how could I listen to something that was made to read?”

Then, BOOM! A blast for my soul. It was the most amazing experience at the time.

Finding out about audiobooks was the first step to my podcast journey.

Audiobooks Is Fine But, Podcast?

I bought my first iPhone back in 2012, It was and is very expensive in Brazil.  An native app drove my attention. It was called ‘podcasts’.

I didn’t know what the heck was a podcast ’till late 2013. In fact a few people in Brazil knew what was that.

So, what matters is that I was in front of the best resource to kill my unproductive time and help me out in the process.

Suddenly I was an avid listener for the craziest amount of podcasts shows. My listening skills from english language helped me a lot over the years.

Here it goes a list of the best podcasts that I found over these years in the topics of productivity and self-development.

  1. 5 Am Miracle

Sample Episode: #174 – How to Choose the Best Productivity Tools and Resources

This podcast is one of my favorites. Jeff Sanders covers all about productivity. He talks about health, energy, motivation, time and of course interviews. He wants you to dominate your day before breakfast.

I credit this podcast as my first motivator. Great audio quality and a hand full of insights.

One thing that I love is that every single episode is transcribed for you. I love to read and outline things. Amazing.

  1. The Productivityist Podcast

Sample Episode:   #136 – The Productive Kitchen with Allison Schaaf

Hosted By Mike Vardy this podcast go to the side of techniques and science data base. It gives tools and tips to manage time and tracking progress.

This podcast covers everything that you need to know about the latest trends and more.

It approaches the subject with a different view almost all the time. Check it out.

  1. Beyond The To-Do List

Sample Episode: #169 – Focus: Cal Newport on Distractions, Focus and Deep Work

Erik Fisher host this podcast that is based on interviews of productive people that shows you how to get done.

He uses other people’s experience in productivity and life to forward the knowledge to us.

I believe that is the best in interviewing segment about productivity.

  1. Optimal Living Daily

Sample Episode: #565 – 7 Reasons You Struggle with Happiness by Angel Chernoff of Marc & Angel

The apple of my eye. haha! Another great show that features the best insights from the most influential people.

Justin Malik reads the best blog articles to his audience. It’s amazing because you can hear something encouraging or insightful every single day.

I love this one. I believe that you’ll love it too.
  1. The Productivity Show

Sample Episode: #148 – What to Do When You Feel Stuck and Need a Fresh Start

This is the podcast from the crew. A fine website that reunites the best tips and resources to get things done more quickly.

Another great piece of work with all you need to create a life with no time wasting.

Think smarter and get effective with their content. They have great courses and free resources. Amazing.
  1. Back To Work

Sample Episode: #279 – The Fishery Loophole

Back to Work is an award winning talk show with Merlin Mann and Dan Benjamin. It is a funny one. Really. They hit the sweet spot between entertainment and informational podcast.

Listen to it and have lots of fun.

This one I found after gol digging in the ‘podosphere’ in search for the best content. They will not disappoint you.

  1. The Tim Ferriss Show

Sample Episode: #214 – How to Design a Life – Debbie Millman

Tim Ferris is an outstanding professional for self-improvement. I discovered him in a Ted Talks back in the days.

It’s a long list of things that he does, like books, speaking, blogging, coaching and the podcast is the most impressive.

He has huge numbers, but for us, that doesn’t matter much.

What matters most is the help we’ll get between one tip and another.

Look at his huge podcast guest list:

  • Arnold Schwarzenegger
  • Jamie Foxx
  • Edward Norton
  • Tony Robbins
  • Vince Vaughn
  • Rick Rubin
  • Jon Favreau
  • +200 more…

I love it, he takes it to another level. They talk about their routines, mindset, techniques and other stuff. Simply amazing.

This Is Helping Yourself To Grow

That was my list of the greatest podcasts that I listen in a daily basis. You’ll like some of them more of the others but I’m sure you will like them all.

Do this and start growing your ‘better you’ and leaving bad habits behind. Invest in you.

If you love life, don’t waste time, for time is what life is made up of.
